Panna Cotta is a traditional Italian dessert. Its origin it’s linked to an area in North of Italy. You will find this dessert in all Italian restaurant menus all over the world. It is a very simple dessert that will tickle your taste buds. I find it similar to flan.
Panna Cotta
This dessert is basically a milk and heavy cream, cream mixed with jelly powder. Let it set over night and serve them with different toppings like chocolate, fruits, caramel or honey. It is simple and tasty.
I served my Panna Cotta with honey and strawberries.
Ingredients:
- heavy cream - 600 ml
- milk - 80 ml
- sugar - 100 grams
- jelly powder - 7 grams
- vanilla essence - 2 ml
Instructions:
- Mix powder jelly with milk.
- Add the heavy cream in a thick sauce pan. Add sugar and put it on the stove on low heat.
- Let it boil and add milk mixed with jelly powder.
- At the end add vanilla essence.
- Put the mixture in bowls or in anything you want. I used silicon trays for muffins.
- Let them cool until they reach room temperature. Then refrigerate them for at least four hours or over night.
- Take them out of the trays and serve them with your favorite topping. To take them out easily put the tray in a bowl with cold water.
Enjoy your meal!
